    Bad Witch!

Sunday, January 27, 2008, 03:06 AM MST [General]

    Merry Meet Everyone!!

I've been a terrible, bad Witch lately and haven't been getting on here at all ... with my limited (usually less than 10 hours a week at the max) time to get onto the internet I've let this site slip.

I will try my hardest to get online (this weekend I'm watching a friend's house and yippee she's got internet!!) more often.

What's going on with all of you?

    What was with today ...???

Thursday, May 31, 2007, 12:59 AM MST [General]

OK so what was with today? I was grumpy and b!tchy all day ... complained about having to deal with people. I'm not normally that way and it was noticed by my co-workers as well. One asked why I was in such a p!ssy mood.

NOW, mind you I had to deal with instructors calling me and saying well I let 12 people who weren't enrolled into this course stay ... luckily, 8 people didn't show that had registered for the course but I also had other people on the waitlist that should have been notified a head of time and been given the opportunity to go instead. This instructor KNOWS better ... the policy is registration in our system or you don't attend. I don't care that their admin person made up their own little list! The only freakin list that matters is MINE!! I'm serious ... if you want to attend a class do you just show up? or do you register first? eesh

I'm a Gemini ... don't know if that has to do with anything or if I'm just tired, hot and p!ssy. I just don't seem to be able to tolerate as much stupidity as I used to.

ON a positive note: I'm taking a year and a day course and I LOVE IT!! One of the things we're doing is researching Goddesses ... I'll post my "report" at a later date.

Well I have to get to bed ... so good night!

    ~Mishka

p/s: seriously would like to know if there's something going on affecting people's moods or if it's just a Gemini thing? or if it's a I'm going thru menopause and I am just not as tolerant as before? THANKS for any insight you can give me.

    Hecate's Supper by ~Fiya

Wednesday, May 2, 2007, 01:06 AM MST [General]

Hecate's Supper is a devotion to Hecate performed on the last day of the lunar month, the night that the moon is dark before the new moon's crescent shows in the sky. (Another traditional night is November 16th. There are other dates sacred to her on the calender as well.) Preferably at a cross roads and preferably where there are not artificial lights. Street lights for example. Lighting should be tapers or torches, I personally used a lantern. The best is suppose to be a hag taper (A mullien ~verbascum thapsus~ stalk dried and dipped in tallow then lit as a torch.) Basically. You go out alone or with other witches. I recommend the latter if possible. I personally carved an effigy to place at the cross-roads, as that use to by done, but it's not required. Maybe a drawing of her or something would work nicely. Traditional foods to prepare and bring along would be: eggs (she supposedly likes hers raw), fish, goat cheese, garlic, mushrooms, honey and honey cakes. Oh and anything left for her may not be taken back, so if you leave a plate instead of
maybe a large leaf or a wooden disc, you may not come back to collect it. This would be an insult. So any dishes you leave her are also hers to keep.

So what you do is by firelight. Read a devotion so she knew who the meal was in honor of. Or just tell her it's for her. Then you set up a plate for her, hers gets dished up first, also a drink for her would be nice. I chose a nice red wine. Then you sit there and eat while talking with your witchy companions about magic if you have some along. (Otherwise you can chat with her or eat in silence) When you are ready to go place the image of her (if you brought one it's
optional) and her food. After you turn away, and this was stressed as very important in all the literature, DO NOT LOOK BACK. I parked my car a ways away in such a way I would not look on the spot again as I left. Also do not invoke her unless you are ready to serve her for life, that's why I only wrote a poem to honor her not invoke her:

    In eventide when crickets sing
And the nightbirds take to wing
    In the firelight's sacred ring
    To honor thee great Hecate
We bring this feast to you our host
Raise a glass to you in toast
Of you who ancient poets boast
    To honor thee great Hecate
We offer to thee, magic's mother
She who calls the dog her other
This feast, this drink, and yet another
    To honor thee great Hecate
    Keeper of the sacred key
    Lady of these crossroads three
    We offer you an effigy
    To honor thee great Hecate
All the knowledge that you hold
The past, the future, all fortold
For Witches all, within your fold
    Do honor to thee Hecate.

    Home Peace Spell

Wednesday, May 2, 2007, 12:35 AM MST [General]

    Home Peace Spell

    You Will Need:

    A Bowl
    3 Tbs. of sea salt
    3 Tbs. of Lavender
    A Red Candle

Put the salt and lavender in a bowl and stir three times with your wand. Go to your front door and sprinkle some of the mixture on to the doorstep saying,

"We call on the Spirit to bless this home
    with health, happiness, and harmony."

Go to your back door if you have one and repeat.

Go to the most frequently used communal room and light the candle, saying,

"We thank the Spirit for answering our call
    for health, happiness, and harmony.
We ask for this blessing in the knowledge
that health, happiness, and harmony may
    bring peace to our home.
Bring Peace, Bring Peace, Bring Peace."

Keep the remaining salt and lavender mixture. Whenever you have an unfortunate visitor, repeat the spell- after they have left of course.
